Why Follow Commodity Markets?
While many stocks often rise and fall with the broader market, individual commodity markets frequently move independently, creating opportunities in multiple directions at the same time.
Commodity markets are also known for their volatility. Significant price moves that might take weeks or months in equities can unfold in just a matter of days, creating both greater opportunity—and greater risk.
That combination of independent markets, multiple time frames and larger price swings is what makes commodities so compelling.
Here’s how our Chief Commodity Analyst, Jim Martens describes his approach in Commodity Junctures:
“One principle has guided my analysis for decades: not every commodity deserves your attention all the time.
Every week, I review dozens of commodity charts, but I focus on the markets showing the clearest Elliott wave patterns, the strongest trends and the most compelling potential turning points. If I don’t have confidence in a market, I’ll tell you. I’d rather help you concentrate on the best opportunities than force an opinion on every chart.
That’s the philosophy behind Commodity Junctures. Each week, I help subscribers focus on the markets showing the greatest potential while explaining the Elliott wave patterns and technical evidence shaping my outlook. My goal is simple: help you spend less time chasing noise and more time focused on the opportunities that matter most.”

Whether markets are trending, consolidating or approaching major reversals, Commodity Junctures keeps you connected to the latest Elliott wave analysis so you’re prepared for what comes next.

The key pattern: an ending diagonal — an Elliott wave structure that often appears near major turning points.
Jim explained that cotton’s low was likely already in place and that corrective pullbacks could offer additional opportunities before a larger rally unfolded.

An explosive rally unfolded.
