What makes Elliott Wave International unique?
A Singular History
More than 80 years ago, a modest genius near the end of his life made a breakthrough discovery.
In 1934, R.N. Elliott's landmark study of stock market trends showed that prices in the indexes are patterned. Elliott discovered that investors, as a group, swing from excessive optimism to excessive pessimism in predictable waves.
In turn, Elliott offered evidence of his discovery by making astonishingly accurate stock market forecasts.
What appears random and unrelated, Elliott said, actually traces out recognizable patterns — once you know what to look for. He called his discovery The Wave Principle, and the implications were huge. He had identified the common link that drives the trends in human affairs, from financial markets to fashion, from politics to popular culture.
A small circle of investment professionals kept Elliott's Wave Principle alive in the 1950s and 1960s, quietly enjoying great success using it as a forecasting tool. In 1977, Robert Prechter and A.J. Frost began to introduce the Wave Principle to a wider audience.
The team of 20+ market analysts we've since assembled at Elliott Wave International is unique in the financial world. Bob Prechter still writes every issue of The Elliott Wave Theorist, yet EWI also has abundant research talent, forecasting support and mental horsepower at work under one roof. That's why subscribers receive the standard for excellence in analysis.
Today Elliott Wave international is the largest independent technical analysis firm in the world. We cover every major financial index in the world, around the clock, and many of our publications have won top awards in their categories. We do not take our lead from Federal Reserve Policy, news headlines, Presidential elections or the latest economic statistics. In fact we forecast the forces that produce those outcomes, so we — and you — can expect them to happen.

Vadim Pokhlebkin
When you grow up in the former USSR -- where private property is illegal, the black market is where you go for a pair of knock-off Levi's, and democracy exists only on paper -- it (mis)shapes your perspective of everything. Especially the markets and economy. When Vadim landed on American shores at the age of 21, he began to hungrily study Western business practices. Then he discovered the Elliott Wave Principle, which moved him even closer to truly understanding free markets. Shortly after joining EWI in 2001, he met and studied under the late legendary trader Dick Diamond, whose "80/20" methodology underpins EWI's intensive course co-developed and taught by Vadim: Trade Small, Win Often. Vadim is also EWI's Sr. Writer, editor, and a jack of multiple other trades.
Robert R. Prechter
Founder and President, Elliott Wave International
Robert R. Prechter’s name is familiar to market observers the world over. Since founding EWI in 1979, Prechter has focused on applying and enhancing the Wave Principle, R.N. Elliott’s fractal model of financial pricing. Prechter shares his market insights in The Elliott Wave Theorist, one of the longest-running financial publications in existence today. Prechter has developed a theory of social causality called socionomics, whose main hypothesis is endogenously regulated waves of social mood prompt social actions. In other words, events don’t shape moods; moods shape events. Prechter has authored and edited several academic papers. He has written 18 books on finance and socionomics, including a New York Times bestseller.
Tom Prindaville
Senior Intraday U.S. Equity Analyst
Tom Prindaville has spent more than 32 years studying market action and trading commodities and equity futures, which has led him to some unique ways of analyzing market action. He developed a proprietary technique of projecting a matrix of support and resistance levels which acts as a useful overlay for counting and projecting Elliott waves. Tom joined EWI in 2000, where he now provides fast-paced Intraday forecasts for U. S. stock indexes based on his proprietary method and the Elliott wave principle in EWI's Fibonacci Matrix Service.
Jason Soni

Senior Analyst, The Socionomist
Chuck Thompson, senior analyst for The Socionomist, has spent more than a quarter-century studying and writing about personal finance and cultural trends. He also served as a writer and editor in the radio and newspaper industries for eight years prior to making the jump to finance. Chuck joined The Socionomist in September 2010.
Areas of interest include international affairs, war, movies, television, music, science, religion and human behavior.
Brian Whitmer
Editor, European Financial Forecast
Brian Whitmer was a civil engineer in another life, so he's got a good sense of how things are constructed. Applying that skill set, he deconstructs today's sundry financial vehicles, like CDOs, meme stocks, subprime mortgages, SPACs, et al, and contextualizes them for his subscribers in the monthly European Financial Forecast and the European stock section of Global Market Perspective. He's also got a bit of wanderlust and is currently traveling around the world for a first-hand, boots-on-the-ground feel for what's really going on.
Murat Yilmaz
European Equity Analyst
Murat Yilmaz, CEWA, began publishing his own Elliott wave and other technical analysis online in 2002, and later went on to manage major software development projects in several industries, including finance. He joined EWI in 2013, and now provides intraday forecasts and analysis for the European stock indexes in EWI's Pro Services.
Ivelin "Ivo" Zhelev
Global Interest Rates Analyst
Ivelin "Ivo" Zhelev, CEWA, has been involved in the financial markets since 2011. He co-founded and managed a company providing weekly wave outlooks for the major forex pairs and major stock indexes, and was a contributor to two books published by Academic Publishing House "Tsenov" - Svishtov, "Capital Optimization" and "Debt Management."
