The Socionomics Institute is looking for a statistics
professor to vet methodologies on multiple academic
research projects. We aim to publish the work in peer-reviewed
journals. The projects involve quantitative analyses
of financial and social time series. The ideal candidate
has experience designing and evaluating research methods,
possesses a strong working knowledge of theoretical
and applied statistics, is affiliated with a recognized
department, and communicates clearly and effectively
with a lay audience. Co-authorship is a possibility

Technical Marketing Specialist

As the Technical Marketing Specialist, you’ll
contribute to a wide variety of internet marketing
channels that support our online community and subscriber
base. You’ll be responsible for the daily execution
of all outbound email communications to our email lists
of friends and customers. You’ll experiment with
what’s working (and not working) in email newsletters.
You’ll test and measure Google pay-per-click
campaigns. You’ll set up, edit, and measure the
effectiveness of web pages. And in all of these tasks,
you’ll track key metrics, derive insights from
results, and share recommendations with the Marketing
Team.
This makes it imperative that you love technology
and learning how you can use technology to achieve
marketing goals. If you consider yourself someone who
loves to “tinker” with a variety of online
tools and platforms such as WordPress and Google Analytics,
this position may be a great fit for you.
Skills & Experience:
- Internet savvy: While you don’t have to be
a web designer, SEO veteran, or programmer, you should "get" how
things work in internet marketing and enjoy internet
technology.
- Self-motivated learner who wants to become educated
in multiple internet channels and learn the latest
trends in online marketing.
- Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized,
and able to prioritize and multi-task.
- Introductory HTML proficiency; ability to set up
or edit basic web pages
- Must act with urgency and be deadline driven
- Strong analytical skills, including interpretation
of metrics used in e-commerce tasks.
- Proficient computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Google
Analytics.
- Willingness to ask questions (or learn by researching/Googling
questions)
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but a candidate
with equivalent knowledge and experience will be
considered.
Work Environment:
- 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday; work internally; casual
attire; mix of in-person and virtual team; collaborative
culture.
