The Most Efficient Path of the Stock Market Unfolds at Large Degree
Investors face a historical juncture in the price pattern.

By Bob Stokes
5/8/2013 12:45:00 PM

In the 1920s, R.N. Elliott was a successful author, consultant and accountant. But late in that decade he contracted a debilitating and near-fatal illness that left him bedridden. He chose to pass the time by studying the stock market's price patterns. His career had required meticulous attention to detail, and in turn he applied that rigor to his study of the market. Learn about his fascinating discovery and how it's relevant today.

Impulsive Price Action Could Be on Tap for the US Oil Exchange Traded Fund
The 2011-2012 sell off in natural gas is why Elliott third waves are "wonders to behold."

By Nico Isaac
3/13/2013 5:30:00 PM

My personal favorite Elliott wave pattern, of all 13 known patterns, is the third wave. To witness a wave 3 in action is “a powerful sight to see.” The first chart below of natural gas comes from EWI's January 2011 Global Market Perspective. It showed prices gearing up for a third-of-a-third wave decline to $2 -- a level the market had not seen in over a decade.

Third Waves & Energy Markets: “Wonders to Behold”
A past (and perhaps future) example of 3rd wave price action in energy markets, from EWI's premier analysts.

By Nico Isaac
10/11/2012 4:15:00 PM

Of all 13 known Elliott wave patterns, my personal favorite – along with most Elliotticians – is the third wave. The reason being: If waves were like people, third waves would be like the world's fastest man, Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt.To witness a wave 3 in action is “a powerful sight to see -- as our real-world example of a third-of-a-third move in natural gas from the beginning of 2011 makes plain.

Apple's iPhone, Germany, the Fed: Why It's All Irrelevant to the Market's Trend
R.N. Elliott's other major insight: News events do not impact market price patterns

By Bob Stokes
9/12/2012 5:30:00 PM

Even major news does not alter the market's main wave pattern! This seems to defy logic because most people believe that news and events are the very things that drive the stock market. Yet, it was barely 100 years ago when most people believed that only birds could fly. In the 70 years since R.N. Elliott observed that news does not alter the market's wave pattern, his insight has been proven time and again. It's wise to keep your market eye on what really matters: the Wave Principle. You can find out what the Wave Principle is revealing about today's market...

R.N. Elliott's Discovery Foretells a Major Market Turn Still to Come
Elliott's 70-year-old forecast applies in 2012

By Bob Stokes
9/4/2012 4:45:00 PM

In 1941, R.N. Elliott drew a chart of his long-term forecast based on the Wave Principle. The final label on that chart is the year 2012! Amazingly, wave analysis thus far confirms Elliott's 2012 forecast. In the August 2012 Elliott Wave Theorist, subscribers receive a specific stock market overview through early 2013. Indeed, EWI's timing tools appear pointed to the exact month of a major stock market turning point...

The Elliott Wave Principle is a detailed description of how financial markets behave. The description reveals that mass psychology swings from pessimism to optimism and back in a natural sequence, creating specific Elliott wave patterns in price movements. Each pattern has implications regarding the position of the market within its overall progression, past, present and future. The purpose of Elliott Wave International’s market-oriented publications is to outline the progress of markets in terms of the Wave Principle and to educate interested parties in the successful application of the Wave Principle. While a course of conduct regarding investments can be formulated from such application of the Wave Principle, at no time will Elliott Wave International make specific recommendations for any specific person, and at no time may a reader, caller or viewer be justified in inferring that any such advice is intended. Investing carries risk of losses, and trading futures or options is especially risky because these instruments are highly leveraged, and traders can lose more than their initial margin funds. Information provided by Elliott Wave International is expressed in good faith, but it is not guaranteed. The market service that never makes mistakes does not exist. Long-term success trading or investing in the markets demands recognition of the fact that error and uncertainty are part of any effort to assess future probabilities.
