'Tis the season to be jolly
As we shop at Mart de Wally,

Where there's lots of toys & 'tronics
And CDs of Harry Connick's.

Can it be that dread deflation
Slashed the price of kids' Play Station?

All hail the wise men, Hank & Ben!
Or was there hanky-panky when

Bernanke saved the Wall St. lender
Leaving Main itself to fend for?

Option ARMs now equal subprimes
In these unexpected hard times.

More foreclosures 'cross the land
Houses sink in loan quicksand.

Economists in tone of pity:
"2009 won't be so pretty."

California towns go bankrupt,
As pols in Chi-town define "corrupt."

But mostly we've got credit woes
And worries 'bout new market lows.

Wait! Now upon the midnight clear
Comes voice so sane that we can hear.

It's Sanity Clause, but that's no joke.
He's come again, our hero folk.

To bring a book in his red coat
About the Crash – and please do note

That you can prosper in '09
If you make like reindeer flyin'

To buy this book that is so brimming
With useful views on finance trimming.

Let others say that cash is trash,
To us it's king, without the flash

Of Bernie that advisor coot,
The one who Madoff with the loot.

The moral of this holiday poem?
Depend on self, since best you know 'im.

Editor's note:

Quick buy a copy of Conquer the Crash --

Find where to stash your hard-earned cash.

It's got a CD-rom update

To which you really can relate.

(And price we still did not inflate.)
