From Student to Protégé to Mentor – How Roberto Hernandez Became Dick Diamond's Trusted Colleague

Robert Hernandez is a skilled Elliottician and 2002 alumni of Dick Diamond's Market Mentor Trading Course. He has worked with Diamond ever since.

Like many of the traders who attend Dick's course, Roberto first heard about it through EWI. During the Market Mentor session he attended, Roberto quickly caught Dick's eye when he used Elliott wave analysis to make amazingly accurate forecasts of the DJIA's intraday moves.

At the time, Roberto's full-time job was in the corporate finance office of Pemex, a Mexico-based oil company. But he had dreams of becoming a professional trader. He was a consummate student of Elliott wave analysis and other technical methods. Yet like many before him, he was too often on the losing end of his trades and couldn't figure out why. His technical analysis was correct, but his trades often went wrong. Desperate to fix the problem, he signed up for the Market Mentor Trading Course.

That's where he had the epiphany which changed his life. He realized that being a good analyst and a good trader are two different things. So he immersed himself in Dick's lessons to close the gap between the two.

Roberto worked with Dick, to combine Dick Diamond's oscillator-based trading techniques with his own wave analysis. He noticed that oscillators would confirm wave counts, and he'd finally found the key he'd been looking for. Roberto also confirms that simply knowing the analysis doesn't give you the emotional control you need to succeed as a trader – but Dick's course does.

Nearly a decade later, Roberto is an expert at chart analysis across multiple timeframes and at executing trades to capitalize on opportunities. He frequently trades energy, gold, global equities and currencies, but his favorite market is the DJIA intraday.

Dick's approach is highly technical though it does not include Elliott wave analysis. Roberto, however, rarely makes a trade without checking his Elliott wave indicators.
