Conquer The Crash

New Edition of Conquer the Crash Will Publish in Late October

A new, revised edition of Robert Prechter's Conquer the Crash: You Can Survive and Prosper in a Deflationary Depression will be published by John Wiley & Sons in late October 2009. Prechter just approved the final version of the new section on October 2 to send to the publisher.

The second edition adds 188 new pages that explain (1) how deflation is the true threat to the U.S. and global economy and (2) exactly how the financial markets topped out over the past five years.

The first edition became a New York Times–bestselling book when it was published by John Wiley & Sons in 2002. Just as the original book did, this second edition of Conquer the Crash goes beyond mere predictions. Prechter discusses the real problems that people will face in a deflationary depression and offers help on how to protect their investments and livelihoods.

As you may know, Prechter stands out as the analyst who accurately anticipated the current economic and financial situation in detail. Here is a short list of the forecasts he made in Conquer the Crash in May 2002:

  • A rare, simultaneous fall in real estate, stocks and commodities
  • Bank failures (which now occur weekly)
  • The implosion of collateralized securities
  • Government bailout schemes
  • Fannie Mae's stock collapse
  • Bond-rating services failing to issue warnings

These predicted events now unfold almost daily: Prechter once again offers important additional insights that will prepare readers for the worst and give them hope for how to prosper when the deflationary depression ends.
